First Burial in the Cobram Cemetery.

The first known Burial in Cobram Cemetery.

There was a wooden cross marking the burial of the first person in the Cobram Cemetery and that is of a  twelve year old girl by the name of Mary Hughes, this cross was destroyed in a grassfire a few years ago and the exact place of this burial is now unknown.

 

 

The oldest known surviving Monument.

The oldest known surviving monument in the Cobram Cemetery is that of Mrs Henry (Jane) Campbell who died at the Cobram Station in 1860.
 

 

 

 

Thomas James Kennedy member for Moira in the First Federal Parliament. His Wife Bridget and a son James Patrick Kennedy are in this grave.
