Cobram Cemetery is Incorporated under the Cemeteries and Crematoria Act 1958.

The Cobram Cemetery is bound by the regulations through the Department of Human Services, Cemetery and Crematoria Unit.

CEMETERIES & CREMATORIA ACT 2003.

October 30, 2003 saw the implementation of the Cemeteries and Crematoria Act 2003. 
The new laws will apply to all Victorian Cemeteries and Crematoria from 1 July 2005

WHY ARE NEW LAWS NECESSARY?.

The laws applying to Cemeteries and Crematoria date from 1958 and incorporate aspects of much older laws.  The Victorian community is very different from 45 years ago

The new laws will provide a clearer regulatory framework for the Cemeteries and Crematoria sector, and important reforms to the management and operation of Cemetery Trusts.
